I've been gone a long time
« on: January 15, 2007, 11:48:49 PM »
Hey Y'all, Santa brought me a be-u-teeful iMac with 17" screen and I don't know nuttin' about all the operations I have available to me.  smile.gif At least I can do any updates without wondering if there is room on the hard drive. Tee-hee

We sold the log cabin, bought a condo, and got moved into the old home town the day after Christmas.  whew.gif Lotta work involved. I hope never to move again.

I still haven't had time to get into my Mac For Dummies. I keep hoping to find the time.

It's way past time for sleep1.gif. I just wanted to say "Hi".
I've learned I don't suffer from insanity, I enjoy every minute of it... ;) Liz

Hi Liz, welcome back.

Sounds like you have a nice new machine. smile.gif

And new digs. wink.gif

BTW, it looks as though you may have forgotten your old password or did you intentionally want to create a new identity? If you wish, we can reset the password on your old account, send it to you and then you can log in and change it to whatever you want, update the email, etc.

Let us know.  salute.gif

I'm a bit confused... wacko.gif

Did your previous screen name not work?

...or did you just forget the password? Thinking.gif

clap.gif Congrats on the new iMac!

Who needs sleep1.gif? Play with your new toy!! wink2.gif
Ya gotta applaud those bunnies for sacrificing their hearing just so some guy in Cupertino can have better TV reception.

Welcome Aboard, Liz! Congrats on the new machine. I have an much older iMac with a 17" screen, amazing how much better than my old 'all-in-one-crt' model it replaced.

I'm not even updated to 4.8! You're ahead of me there, also. But I'd recommend David Pogue's "The Missing Manual - Tiger Edition" rather than one of the "Dummies" books. He is a great writer, lots of experience, humorous and you can easily skip the intricate details until they interest you ( if ever! ). It's probably more expensive, but well worth it, IMHO. Perhaps you got a "book store" gift card? Those things can almost paper a wall around here! clap.gif

THERE ARE TWO TYPES OF COUNTRIES
Those that use metric = #1 Measurement system
And the United States = The Banana system
CAUTION! Childhood vaccinations cause adults!

Get David Pogue's book - I have it and it is very useful and well written.

Lucky you getting an iMac - have fun and enjoy the steep vertical learning curve!

I thought I knew the password, and I think I tried asking for it when I tried logging in last night. Maybe not; I tried several things before giving up. I would like the old account. TNX...

I like your use of colors. I tried it once. It took a loooog time.

I've had Mac For Dummies for several months. With the move coming up and other daily tasks I just haven't found time to pick it up. Now I'm trying to find a place for all our "stuff". It always amazes me that after moving into a new, larger place there doesn't seem to be a place for everything.  doh.gif  huh.gif

no2.gif ! No gift cards.

THANKS EVERYBODY FOR THE KIND WELCOME!!!!

Howdy. My wife and I have moved 27 times; we have some understanding of your circumstances. We both agree we have one more move in us before the casket basket move.
Ignore the argumentative nature of this poster. He is old and can't engage in meaningful dialog very long.
Therefore, management asks that you at least humor him. Thanks.

I truly hope this is our last move. Our record is similar to yours. Next time, I plan to call the thrift store to take everything, our children don't want, off our hands and start fresh.
