I've been receiving E-mail spam in foreign languages for some time.  Now, the latest is that it has "kcourt" in the title of the spam.  rant.gif

I am so tired for spam, but it will probably get worse.  I have a spam filter but still like to check to make sure a good one doesn't get mixed up with the spam.

I was hit with more than the usual spam dump overnight, but the ISP filters it into a junk folder before it shows up in Thunderbird. I have to check the web version to see what's there, in case it routed legit mail into the junk pile, but it never does.

The spam included the usual paypal "emergencies" and the usual assortment of emails from a dozen or so U.S. banks bulging with all my billions.

Why is it that Canadian banks are ignored? How hard could it be to stick the name of a Canadian bank in spam routed to a Canadian ISP? This atrocious under-representation of Canadian banks must end!

Why should I have to phone long distance to New York — at my expense — to find out about my zillions when I could make a local call to Toronto? It's bias, pure and simple. Worse yet, I get Spanish spam, too, but never any in French, an official language here! How dare they!

There is no excuse for this insulting behaviour, and I'm going to write letters of complaint to the prime minister and the secretary-general of the United Nations. That'll settle their hash!

NB
Not sure why anyone is so upset about Spanish SPAM anymore than other SPAM. dntknw.gif There are many threads here offering suggestions on how to control it, dozens of sites doing the same. Either take the advice or stop complaining about it. SPAM control is available, use it or stop complaining. Report new ways, but redundant reporting that it happens just wastes space here. doh.gif

Hi all,

I seem to be a very wealthy man as I receive emails that say my account with bank X (I only use bank Y) is about to expire and therefore needs to be reviewed and updated.  So many SPAM accounts, so little moolah!

I too have set up filters in my Gmail account and thy seem to be working.  I must also say that my ISP has done a very good job of filtering my mail on their server.

I also check our accounts (3) using POPmonitor and bounce and block any that get through.

Voilà mes 2 cents,

Johan
Hmmmmm. I know you think you understand what you thought I said, but I'm not sure that what you heard is what I actually meant!

Of course, if you don't speak/read Spanish, are you really sure it's spam???? It could be something important--like a chance to help a guy in Nigeria...

C'mon Xairbusdriver--clearly you misunderstood the subject heading of this thread: "Spanish Spam in my inbox!, what the @#$&..." What could have given you the idea that he was upset about it or complaining about it??  Thinking.gif rolleyes.gif

I guess I'll have to recheck my dictionary concerning "@#$&...". rofl.gif

BTW, Johan, I use POPmonitor, also. Just in case I want to check what might be in some of this stuff. I also have marked most of my known, approved, "Trusted" senders, so it's easy to spot what is probably SPAM. But using the 'Bounce' feature is probably just a waste of time, the 'From:' data is probably not correct, anyway. I used to dump them with PM but now I let SpamSieve do that for me! wink.gif
