Totally forgetting that there were magnets in the screen on my MacBook, i was using it on a desk in front of a CRT monitor, messing up the monitor.
Don't try this at home kiddies... 
Just an FYI so it doesn't happen to anyone else.
Although you'd think that they'd make a computer that doesn't do any harm to other components
