My first thought was, "I thought I was the only one on the planet still using a modem."

Then the article opened, and I saw they're talking about cable modems.

But, I've wondered about this before... Will a conventional modem, with the standard telephone jack connect to a 2007 iMac? If not, what??
Ya gotta applaud those bunnies for sacrificing their hearing just so some guy in Cupertino can have better TV reception.

A serial-port modem will not. However, if you need a modem, you can buy a USB modem from Apple that will work with any current Mac.
A whole lot about me: www.xeromag.com/franklin.html

Gregg, I bought the Apple USB modem (teeny little thing!) for my MacBook Pro; needed it for traveling etc. when I had to use dial-up. Works very well. smile.gif

But, they are no longer installing modems (modai?) in the machines, correct?

Maybe they'll put these fast ones in soon for the novelty of it.
