NOW HEAR THIS
« on: May 16, 2007, 09:42:00 AM »
I must have looked at this a bit too long yesterday.

EVERYONE needs to delete your previous TS cookies.  A lot of the problems some of you have been seeing,  today I've been seeing.  I'm on the "other" computer, so I still have cookies from 2.1.7 and they are not playing well with 2.2.2.  No, I'm not even sure I know what I'm talking about.... but it is now working.  I went to my browser's preferences and dumped the cookies, and I'm in Firefox.  I'll switch over to Safari and try deleting from the board link, which seems to be working.  Also, never hurts to empty your cache.

Do not fear your enemies.  The worse they can do is kill you.  Do not fear friends.  At worst, they may betray you.
Fear those who do not care; they neither kill nor betray, but betrayal and murder exist because of their silent consent.

I am now hearing that some of you are still having problems.  Have you tried clearing your cache?  In FireFox
  1. Go to Firefox>Preferences
  2. Now click Advanced Tab
  3. Now click Cache>Clear Now
This will work a bit better if you close your window to Techsurvivors, then come back.

In Safari
  1. Go to Safari
  2. Scroll down to Empty Cache
  3. Or use Command-Shift-E
Again, better used if you close the window to Techsurvivors and then come back.

Anyone using Camino, Opera, IE or another Mozilla product is WELCOME to add the pertinent information.

With Camino 1.5rc2, was having same problem as noted with FF and Safari, namely automatic log in did not work. After clearing, cache, deleting cookies, quiting and relaunching Camino, I logged in again. Then finally the Forum  finally remembered and log me in automatically.

Sorry, I spoke to soon. This morning, when I checked back at TS, automatic log in had forgotten me once again

I've dumped cookies, cleared cache, logged out and back in -- 4 or 5 times -- and I still need to log back in every morning.

How do you dump cache?  I find the most effective way is QUIT Safari then go user/library/caches/safari and physically move all those folders to the trash.  Same thing with Firefox, except user/library/caches/firefox/gobbleygook.default and physically move the Cache folder to the trash.

Jennie,

A few minutes ago, I woke up the iBook and went back to the site just now and was automatically logged on, first time that's happened since the upgrade! No further dumping of cache or cookies required... notworthy.gif
