Certain settings are YOUR choice

In "My Controls"
Do not fear your enemies.  The worse they can do is kill you.  Do not fear friends.  At worst, they may betray you.
Fear those who do not care; they neither kill nor betray, but betrayal and murder exist because of their silent consent.

Great news, and these are NEW settings not found in 2.2.0. I hadn't poked around to look for them  blush-anim-cl.gif  and I should have.

Thank you, Jen!!!!!!!!

It has, in this plain-vanilla manifestation, a very neat appearance, Jen & Kris.

Is there a basic/simple/uncomplicated/non-nerd Manual somewhere that could be read, so to better grasp the features and benefits?

No. But there's a nice 50 page PDF manual available at their site. From the other 'help' I've seen of their control panels, it will be great for those nights when you can't get to sleep! tongue.gif

Jen, or someone, where do I find the settings for "picture 1" (show sidebar friends, etc)?

What skin displays those options? I don't see anything like that on the Reply screen. Or is that on the posts screen? wallbash.gif

Clicking on the screen name gives me a drop down list of actions, one of which is "Add as friend". Don't see one for "Hide this members posts from me"! laugh.gif But nothing about any "picture 1". dntknw.gif

How come we didn't see any of these things while we 'tested' this thing! rant.gif rofl.gif

The default for these "sidebars" must be OFF. I don't see 'em either. :magoo:

The omnipotent Kris has fixed that sidebar in profile view.  Some (read most everybody) found it too intrusive.

Well, at least I now know where the thing is. Personally, I find the whole "Profile" thing fairly intrusive. What is IPB trying to do, create a My Space competitor?! laugh.gif I can't imagine people ever going to some ones "Profile". dntknw.gif And why would I want to list only certain people as "Friends" when anyone could go and see it. wallbash.gif Seems rather juvenile, "You're my friend but 'she' is not." rolleyes.gif

clap.gif notworthy.gif  Thank you for saying what I've been trying to say without offending anyone.

I cannot imagine someone being on PosterX's ignore list and reading PosterX's profile and seeing that!

As I have said ... the profile thing is high-schoolish and I detest it.

As long as it's there, I'll be here "invisibly" because that's the only way to hold back my footprints from various things that are no one else's business.
