Thinking Of Buying A Previous Model 24" iMac...
« Reply #15 on: August 21, 2007, 12:26:57 PM »
How well will mirroring/spanning work when using the Dell 2407 with my G5 iMac? Do the specs match-up or willl there be some image distortion or other problem?

I'm new at this external monitor stuff so Forgive Me...

G5 iMac Video:

ATI Radeon X600 Pro (17-inch model) or XT (20-inch model) graphics processor using PCI-Express
128MB of dedicated Double Data Rate (DDR) video memory
17-inch display resolutions:
16:10 aspect ratio
1440 x 900 pixels (native)
1152 x 720
1024 x 640
800 x 500
4:3 aspect ratio
1024 x 768 pixels
800 x 600
640 x 480
20-inch display resolutions:
16:10 aspect ratio
1680 x 1050 pixels (native)
1344 x 840
1280 x 800
1024 x 640
840 x 524
800 x 500
4:3 aspect ratio
1024 x 768 pixels
800 x 600
640 x 480

Dell 2407:

To optimize this monitor's performance, your system must be able to support WUXGA resolution (1920x1200).

I suppose that I would need a VGA cable to connect the monitor to my iMac?

I'm going to look at the Samsung too, but the Dell is tempting because it is available through Costco.com... with a 90 day return policy.
