Ha! You guys thought you'd be safe

Yeah, I'm baaaaaaack....  toothgrin.gif

Just wanted to post in and let you all know I'm doing fine! Working like mad, as usual (that's a good thing I guess) and been too busy to play around on the forums. However today I felt it was time to post a bit, especially a workaround to a problem I had yesterday that was driving me nuts. All the info I could find when I searched for the error message was giving me nothing, oh, info in german or french, but that doesn't help me much. So I hope the search engines finds the post on this forum, and it'll save someone elses time. I can't even remember *where* I read the workaround as I was reading like 20 pages at the same time, but some guy in a thread - deep burried with techncial geek talk - had found the solution, but it wasn't easy to find through Google.

Anyway... everything is fine here. I still adore my kittens, they are sleeping behind my neck right now in a big pile. They are some real characters for sure! Hubby is doing fine, we did celebrate our 5th anniversary on June 21st and I was thinking about all of you guys, who surprised me with an upgrade of Photoshop on our wedding day 5 years ago. I will never forget that generosity! smile.gif

We were in Canada for our 5th anniversary and spent the night in Niagara Falls, very romantic! Click here to see a link of the nice view we had in the hotel!

While in Canada I was shooting hubby's cousin's wedding (phew!) and I also shot a wedding with an extremely talented photographer, Mark Ridout in Niagara-On-The-Lake. Very, very nice! Back at home now and I'm editing weddings up to my ears, and I have more weddings to shoot in august. I think once this summer is over, I've shot a total of 28 weddings since I started. Not many, but a lot! smile.gif It's great fun and a wonderful way to be outdoors and get out of the house.

Soon I will once again start a new translation of one of Scott Kelby's books (I did one this spring about digital photography and now it's an overhaul of Photoshop CS3 for digital photographers). So I'm keeping myself very busy. But if we're going to be able to remodel our kitchen this winter, I need the cash. biggrin.gif

Healthwise, it's the same same. I'm going to be part of a trial for a new medication this fall, but I've been disappointed so many times of so many "wonder drugs", that I am a bit sceptical to this new drug too. But I guess I'll find out sooner than later if it works or not. Would be nice to get my voice back though, so I can yell at hubby. biggrin.gif

So to sum it all up: I miss you guys and I'm doing fine! smile.gif
/Petra

Saw your post in a pinned thread awhile ago and could hardly believe my eyes! Nor can I believe it's been 5 years! "Time flies when you're having fun!" clap.gif

Hope the new drug does something positive for you. With my luck, I'd get the placebo! doh.gif

Sounds like you're keeping too busy, to me! We need your skills and talent around here, you know! Of course, we don't pay as well! laugh.gif Anyway, it's great to see and hear you, again! Tell your cats, your husband and your Mom "Hello!" from the TS crowd! wink.gif

Said "Hello" on the other side but repeat it here.  salute.gif

Glad you are well. I think of you often.

Don't be a stranger.  smile.gif

Yeah I know, I'm a stranger. And I do know I work too much. Phew!!!

But I did something just for my own pleasure wednesday last week - a bit wedding related even so, but here's a taste of what I did.

No brides or dresses were seriously harmed in the process of making these images.

what an eye!  Petra, you are GOOD!
Do not fear your enemies.  The worse they can do is kill you.  Do not fear friends.  At worst, they may betray you.
Fear those who do not care; they neither kill nor betray, but betrayal and murder exist because of their silent consent.

OH my. When I saw the first picture I was thinking of all kinds of possibilities for the relationship of the bride to the oil barrels.  Then as the other photos unfolded the analogies and ulterior meanings began to tell a story...

Verrrry interesting. Freud would be proud. Thinking.gif

Hi Petra!

How's that handsome Scottish tartan friend of yours, Rutger?

Is he still leaving crumbs on your keyboard?  smile.gif

Thanks guys!!!

TS Bear, oh Rutger is doing fine. He is a bit upset with me for not posting enough here, and that I play with the camera too much. He is a bit too small to handle my camera, while it's easier for him to type on the keyboard of the computer (he jumps on each key with his feet). But I'll take him with me next time I shoot and we'll see if I can't help him hold the camera while he takes a picture. He wants to show you something he says! biggrin.gif

And I love the "disclaimer" too. wink.gif
