Local "Fair Week".... up to their knees in muck....  motels flooded to 2nd floor level (2nd time in a year)
5 'swept away' in SE Minnesota... mud slides.....  and more on the way.....

"Scattered showers and thunderstorms" till at least Thursday.....   Better put the 'Rice tires' on my mower...

Got some waders?

We had 3 inches overnight; still coming down. It's supposed to rain everyday until Friday.

A neighbor who is a recently retired widow (her husband was quite a few years older) had been out of town all week. Since my grass needed to be cut yesterday, and hers did too, I did both yards. Ain't gonna be no lawn mowin' 'round here til next Saturday! She would have had to bale the clippings! If she doesn't notice, that's fine with me. It'll be our little secret. :shhh:

Ya gotta applaud those bunnies for sacrificing their hearing just so some guy in Cupertino can have better TV reception.

Pictures from southeastern Minnesota here

Beautiful day here today... One of those "Come to Minnesota" days...
Got the lawn mowed yesterday, finally, after a week of rain and drizzle...

Gregg, do you 'hire out'?? whistling.gif

Bob, you're in Minnesota. My mower is a walk-behind, not a sitting behind.

And, I don't like your state "bird". wink.gif

I cut my own grass again today. It must have been 5 or 6 inches high after 9 inches of rain in the last week!

The state "bird" has been in very short supply up to this point in the summer... not sure what size crop the latest 'moisture' will bring forth  sweatingbullets.gif

Sympathize with the 'cash crop' harvest.... about the same here and with the sun and all that moisture I think it's the grass we'll hear growing at night and not the corn... toothgrin.gif

Just before the 'monsoon season' set in I'd gotten a new Toro - 'self-paced' mower....It is self propelled... but the harder you push on the 'go-faster' bar the faster it goes.. my last one had self destructed with 2 cuts left to go..... the engine replacement cost and labor were about 3/4 of a new one... with no guarantee on longivity... wallbash.gif

Thanks for posting the pics, Bob.

TV's penchant for showing the same scene(s) over, and over, and over again fail to communicate anywhere near as clearly as these news photos.

Astounding.

Since "normal" rainfall in San Francisco is 20-24", between November and May, I can't imagine what almost 9" overnight would be to experience.
