Yikes! <MFI (look for "iWeb '08 Calamity:..."> has a tip that could save you from losing your iWeb site and many other issues with the new version of iLife. Fortunately most have fixes! smile.gif

Thanks Jennie! I think I left the quotation marks off! blush-anim-cl.gif

Jim-There were some extra letters in the address  it looked liked http://hyyp://www.mac.....  And the reason I'm not putting all of it here-

I clicked the link, and it took me to something called Mega Go.com (the space is there for the same reason) that gave me a background popup offering a "free email account".  When I hit Cancel, it opened it's own window, then caused FireFox to crash.

I knew you didn't mean that to happen!  nono.gif

Do not fear your enemies.  The worse they can do is kill you.  Do not fear friends.  At worst, they may betray you.
Fear those who do not care; they neither kill nor betray, but betrayal and murder exist because of their silent consent.

Certainly not! I don't get any kickbacks if no one takes them up on their 'free' stuff! tease.gif

"hyyp"! I can see that it was a simple keyboard problem, someone must have switched my "T" and "Y" keys! Paranoid.gif That's what I get for doing the 'type without reading' thing! doh.gif It's sort of the reverse of touch typing! rolleyes.gif Thanks, again, for the edit.

Considering the pop up ads at that website, I think 'hyyp' is an accurate address.  smile.gif

Pop Up ads?! I've not seen any there in years. Are you using FF? Or one of those 'third-party browsers, like Safari?! wink.gif I don't even see many of the inline, javascript-powered ads...

I do get a pop under at theHungerSite.com but that's because I think it helps track my clicks there.

That's what I'm sayin'.... The way your link was typed, it caused a popunder, and that caused the crash. :hear and read:  And I used FF, and I have most of the privacy functions enabled!

iWeb has an updater, 2.0.1, I think. Hopefully corrects all the known problems. You probably won't see it in Software Update unless you have installed the newset versions of iLife. I'm still waiting! smile.gif I might even be getting a new iMac soon, anyway! clap.gif

David Pogue gave the iMovie portion of iLife very poor ratings.

Read it here. One time subscription required at NYT web site.

This link may not require NYT login. The comments are quite extensive.

Apparently, the 'fix' may not really cure the problems. If/when you get the new version of iWeb, please remember the following admonishment from MacFixI
QUOTE
As a reminder, to avoid data loss, make a copy of your domain folder -- located in ~/Library/Application Support/iWeb/Domain -- before attempting to update to or use iWeb 2.0 or 2.0.1. The program may delete or make inoperable parts of your stored Web site(s). Saving this file can mean the difference between losing or maintaining your current site data.
