Meteorologist On The Fritz... Again!
« on: August 22, 2007, 12:16:20 AM »
Has anyone else been having problems?

I'm running Meteorologist version 1.46 and everything outside of the US is showing nothing but a ? mark for current conditions. The radar image however works. My 2 US locations are functioning properly.

Been this way since last night...

I gave up on it and use this in FF https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/398 it runs on the bottom rail of your browser.

Thanks SB... I've installed that. Not bad and it still fits in my Bookmarks toolbar...  coolio.gif

Are you getting the current conditions for non-US locations? I'm not... it's all ? marks all down the line except for the 2 US locations I have which are completely functional. Everything else is OK for the radar image and extended forecast, just not current conditions...

I have only one 'foreign' location. And it's 'current' icon is the question mark. However, it still has current and forecast info when I open its hierarchical menu. And this, particular location (Shannon, Ireland) is often displayed in this state.

However, the local weather does seem to be broken, also. It keeps showing triple digit temperatures and no rain in the forecasts! sad.gif Unfortunately, I don't think that's a software problem. Thinking.gif Seems I'm a few version behind, also. Maybe the new one will bring back some cooler weather! dntknw.gif doh.gif

DB,

Yep, only the ? when seeking the current conditions outside the US.

A quick peek at the Meteo Forum indicates this is a wide-spread problem.

Seems very strange (to me) that when Meteo fetches non-US data, it has no problem with the forecasted weather, but it can not retrieve the current weather. Thinking.gif

Add your 55 and my 90 divide by 2, and we'd both be comfortable.
Do not fear your enemies.  The worse they can do is kill you.  Do not fear friends.  At worst, they may betray you.
Fear those who do not care; they neither kill nor betray, but betrayal and murder exist because of their silent consent.

QUOTE("the developer")
Thanks for the reports everyone. I probably wouldn't have noticed this bug, otherwise. I will work on a fix over the next few days, and post a fix as soon as I can (unfortunately the next day or two are pretty busy for me).
