MAC OS "might" have URI vulnerablities!
« on: October 15, 2007, 08:52:47 AM »
Microsoft is apparently rushing to patch Windows to deal with URI vulnerabilities.  Uniform Resource Identifiers are apparently used to launch programs from web browsers and a guy named Nathan McFeters thinks "Other" Unix based OS's might have the same problems:

QUOTE
In fact, Nathan McFeters, one of the researchers who has been studying the problem most closely says he hopes to present more details on how other Unix-based operating systems like Linux and Mac OS X may also be susceptible to what are known as URI (Uniform Resource Identifier) protocol handler flaws at the Toorcon hacking conference, being held next week in San Diego.

It's not. It's just poor choice of words on the part of the article's author. There's no Unix in Windows.
