I'll be at our Apple Store getting it in person.

But what sucks is that the educational discount is all but gone. Now you only get $10 off!

Actually, John, it's $13 off... wink.gif But yeah - a far cry from the $69 days. sad.gif

But guess what??? The Canadian retail price is the same and the Canadian education discount is one dollar more! ($14) So one could ask why the retail prices and the family pack prices aren't adjusted for the fact that the Canadian dollar is worth slightly more than the USD, but hey, I'm not about to quibble over one or two dollars. I'm just happy to see parity. Too bad they don't fix the prices on the older stuff too, although they're one of the least offensive retailers when it comes to exchange rate adjustments - they generally are pretty spot on when the item is released; they just don't go and adjust if the exchange rate continues to change afterwards.

Meanwhile, we're still waiting for Canadian book publishers to come to their senses - and for now, I may just buy everything stateside until they do. A 40% premium is so FIVE years ago!

I hope the "currency" itself hasn't changed, Paddy. The last time I came home from a business trip to Vancouver, I had a $20 bill left in my wallet. Probably 6 or 7 years ago.

Still the same piece of paper, I trust? 25+% "capital gain" ain't bad!   whistling.gif

Should work just fine, Dick! smile.gif

Considering how some stock funds have done in the past few years, not to mention the piddly interest on bank accounts these days, you have probably done well! (We are not, of course, referring to Apple stock here!!)

Are they actually staying open that late, Parker? Shades of Harry Potter... tongue.gif

Me...I'll order mine online and get it on the 26th. I'm not about to install it in the wee small hours - even if the Toronto Apple stores stay open late!

ABD is right. It starts at 6PM. There is a countdown clock on the front page at Apple.com.  smile.gif

The NYC store is open 24/7 believe it or not.

As for Apple stock:

After Hours: 171.77 Up 2.19 (1.29%) as of 7:58PM ET on 10/16/07
