GMAIL & Contacts
« on: November 21, 2007, 06:55:27 PM »
Hi, everyone

When I try forwarding a message, in the address field I try typing the first letter to see my list of contacts but nothing shows up (it does when simply composing). Does anyone know why this is?

Thanks.

I just tried it with my Gmail account and the contacts show up fine, Dan. Has this always been the case for you? Or is this a recent phenomenon? I tried it in both Safari (not 3 - haven't upgraded yet) and the latest version of Firefox and both behaved as expected. huh.gif

Yes, in Firefox it's fine. I'm using Safari 3 and it's not working. It used to work in Safari 3 Beta. I checked the preferences to see if something might be blocking it, but I don't see anything that might be doing it.

I also posted it on the GMail forum and I sent the bug to Apple.

Apparently it's a known issue - see http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?m...73 among others. Some people had problems with the beta too. Let's hope Apple fixes this soon. smile.gif

I use gmail - but via the POP3 option using Mail, and also don't do email on my MacBook Pro, which so far is the only machine I've had time to update to Leopard, so hadn't seen the problem. It would seem directly related to Safari 3.
