Rolling Stone Magazine compiled!
« on: December 01, 2007, 05:16:50 AM »
I'm toying with the idea of ordering "Rolling Stone Cover to Cover: The First 40 Years" from Amazon:

http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/0979526108/

I'll admit that it's been a year or two since I actually read an issue and longer than that since I followed along with the music and musicians written about in it's pages but I really loved Rolling Stone when I was a teenager.  It's 4 DVD's and it's said to be compatible with MAC's as well as PC's (not at Amazon but at Boing Boing) but I really feel maybe $78.75 is a little steep for something selfish for myself.  What do you think?

Have you been naughty or nice? santagrin.gif

I guess Rolling Stone has never covered Kate Moss.... or is it the other way around? wink.gif
Ya gotta applaud those bunnies for sacrificing their hearing just so some guy in Cupertino can have better TV reception.

Actually, it does say on Amazon...

From the Publisher
Mac and PC compatible searchable software archive. One of a kind package contains searchable digital editions of every page of every issue ever published during the magazines celebrated 40-year history, all accessible with user-friendly Mac or Window compatible software platform.

I'd certainly buy it from Amazon.com rather than Amazon.co.uk, where the price is 56.34GBP - around $115 at current exchange rates!

Found it at better UK price at The Book Depository, where one comment warns

It is crucial to have enough RAM on your PC or laptop, otherwise the BONDI CD-ROM reader will take ages to load or not load on sufficiently.

Oooh, it's so tempting..... biggrin.gif
