Hope AL is ok!!!

I saw a news report about flooding in Hawaii and they showed two guys floating very rapidly through the streets on a couch. Couldn't see them that well, but thought of Al.  Hope all is well with you and yours Al. Let us know.

What color was the couch?

Nah, probably just a couple guys who can't afford a good surf board. toothgrin.gif

Seriously, hope people pull through ok.
Ya gotta applaud those bunnies for sacrificing their hearing just so some guy in Cupertino can have better TV reception.

The gal who cuts my hair just flew over there -- with her entire family -- for vacation. After the mess here, they were looking forward to some fun in the sun. I don't think they've found it. wink.gif

I hope all are okay.

I too hope Al is OK.

Slightly off topic, I know, but a colleague of mine was flying to the sunshine island for honeymoon in September 2001 - and ended up spending several days in Newfoundland, along with thousands of other airline passengers. She said the warmth of the people there made up for the delay in getting to Hawaii. She and her husband did eventually get to Hawaii.

Just discovered the story she wrote for our paper is still on the web, on the UA929 website; search for 'honeymooners' - her story is the only result.

Hope you don't mind me sharing that (for some of you that should finish "again...")

Al can speak for himself (when he's able), but since I talk most every day (by phone) with clients down there maybe this will reduce some of the TeeEss concern.

Huge storm for a couple of days at the beginninig of the week. Unless you've lived in the tropics, you may not really know what rain can be. A hurrican-presumptive, but with winds at about 60 mph.

Here are some photos . . .

And here is today's edition (anniversary of Pearl Harbor), but look what's the source of most of the news. No surprise there. Interesting reading . . .

Apparently, today, the sun is back, but the mess is still to be all cleaned up.

Glad Al is OK. whew.gif

Though it rather odd that they had a blizzard warning on Mauna Kea mountain with 3 foot snow drifts.  eek2.gif

Aloha all!

I have not washed away!  LOL... What a wet and windy week it has been.  We are all good here, as a low pressure trough passed over the islands it severely affected each island in it's own way.

On the westside of Oahu, 16 utility poles came down.

Parts of Maui island had severe flooding.

All islands took flood damage and had high surf.

The Big Island has SNOW, though you would not want to ski on this!  wink.gif

Thanks for all the kind and caring thoughts.
