Thanks for the info. I'll check them out. Sneakers is a fan of Alien Skin filters.

Most of the effects look decent if you can adjust the extent of the change. The pastel and watercolor are the least impressive. But in general it does a decent job of simulating artistic media, though of course it reflects 'their style'.
Corel's Painter Essentials does a similar maneuver.

Oh, goodness , I have Corel's Painter, Ive never used it. Should probably sign up for those great lessons with it.
