What else can you do with an XO!
« on: January 20, 2008, 10:50:01 AM »
Saw a neat article about hacking about with the XO laptop and thought at least one other person here might
be interested (you know who you are):

I hope we all know who we are!

Hackers? On this site?? Never!
Ya gotta applaud those bunnies for sacrificing their hearing just so some guy in Cupertino can have better TV reception.

Gregg - As far as I know only one of us has mentioned owning an XO laptop!

Next Day: Alright, alright; it's Sandbox!

Thanks gunug, I posted it on the otherside before I saw your post, I'm going to attempt to put Opera on this one when time allows.

I use Opera on my other Linux projects and have come to quickly appreciate it's capabilities. It's one of, if not the best Browser out there. If I'm not mistaken I think Krissel uses it as well. wink.gif

I haven't tried Opera for a long time; it didn't really seem to work a well with the websites I went to.  It's probably better now!

My favorite is Camino, though I do like Opera a lot. There are a couple things that Opera does or doesn't do that drive me back to Camino.

First, if you select some text you can't just drag it to the desktop to create a clipping which I do all the time. Instead you have to copy it to the Notes pages or CopyPaste, then drag it. Too many steps.

Another is that the scroll bar will not jump directly to the top or bottom of the page or wherever you click. You need to hold down the mouse or click several times to get it to move far enough.

It is pretty quick though Camino is a touch faster. I would love to see those quirks changed because I would use Opera a lot more than I do now.
