apple states that they are cutting Q1 production by up to 60% of the iPhone and iPod Touch, and the macBook too

could this be apple saying 'we're coming out with some nice upgrades and new products?'
or could it be that 'business just plain stinks right now...'?

like the tootsie roll pop commercial...
when it comes to apple, "the world may never know."

The comments following the original article in AppleInsider bear some consideration:

...in particular the note that Apple spreads its parts orders among several suppliers.

The whole "analyst" report thing has to be taken with a few bags of salt - last Friday, according to other analysts, Apple was increasing its Mac orders (including notebooks) by 20%:

The best thing "analysts" are good at is making comments that explain how their earlier ones were accurate even when they were completely 'off-the-wall.' Most are envolved with a stock/bond trading company in one way or another. They get paid for their comments and then you get to pay for that again when you buy/sell. Is there any possible chance that there is a certain amount of bias built into this system? Nah! It's just business. tongue.gif
