To bad the ATT Edge network has been down for almost 5 days. When it will come back is anyones guess. Some have and some haven't (I as haven't yet).

$500 seems very expensive for an iPod touch (and I have an 8gb iPod touch and I love it).

Apple is trying to see how many people will bite at those prices. When sales aren't all that spectacular they will drop by $50 or more across the line.

without a doubt that will happen
they'll ditch the 8gb and lower the price of both the 16 and the 32.
they want to see how many people will buy it when it's expensive and how many people they can p/o after lowering the price.
