I don't think we had Smart Folders in OS9. If they were there, I was unaware of them and never used them.
(Gee, this is like being Rip Van Winkle!) Having been introduced to the concept now, I'm wondering what creative uses other people have for Smart Folders.
The only thing I can think of that I might want to do with a Smart Folder is to collect frequently accessed items all in one place. But that's the only characteristic they have in common. (And no, it's not the same as recent items.) So I suppose I'd have to place some distinguishing character in each file's name that I wanted to be available in this "Quick Access" folder. I'm not sure it's much better than the "brute force" method of creating a alias and moving it to a "Dumb Folder". I've already started such a folder, since that's they way I did it before.
