Surprise... another Apple lawsuit

QUOTE
Users are fooled into seeing many more colors because the monitors use technological tricks that involve showing many similar shades at high speeds to create the illusion of the desired shade, according to the lawsuit.

Excuse me, but if the user 'sees' the colors what difference does it make how?  rolleyes.gif

Yeah, I know, false advertising. dry.gif

Perception is only 90% of reality. laugh.gif
Ya gotta applaud those bunnies for sacrificing their hearing just so some guy in Cupertino can have better TV reception.

Surprise... another Apple lawsuit

The opportunists are at it again. The Macbook case was settled out of court (no idea what the settlement was, of course) and the sharks figure there's more where that came from, no doubt. rolleyes.gif I find it fascinating that 5 days after the settlement was announced, Apple is still listing "millions of colors" in their specs for the MBP and MacBook: http://www.apple.com/macbookpro/specs.html . Whatever they agreed to in the settlement, it clearly didn't include removing that from the specs/advertising!

Interesting tidbit from the Chicago Tribune:
QUOTE
A clerk in the San Diego County Superior Court said this morning that Polischuk had called to say the suit had been settled. Polischuck said the plaintiffs didn't pursuit it further because it was difficult to find other people who were wronged because they had bought Macs solely based on the "millions of colors" claim.

So where do these nimrods think they're going to find enough people to pursue a class action in the iMac case? I don't think most professional photographers and graphics pros who rely on spot-on color are going to be looking at iMacs - they'll be heading for the G5s and the really expensive high-end LCDs.

And of course, every OTHER laptop maker is in the same boat - because true 8 bit LCDs are thicker and more expensive. And generally have much slower response times...

Ok...that's it. I'm going to sue Procter and Gamble because they SAID that Tide was "new and improved" and I don't think they did anything and they made the bottle smaller...

And when I'm done with that one, I'll sue all those food companies that keep putting "no fat" on their labels for things that never had fat in the first place. After all, that's misleading isn't it?

And when I'm done with that....
