Ok, I'll expose my ignorance...

Is this software just for developing web banners, or do I have it in order to view them too?
Who needs to upgrade?
Ya gotta applaud those bunnies for sacrificing their hearing just so some guy in Cupertino can have better TV reception.

The Flash we're talking about here is Flash Player - which enables you to view all Flash content on the web. This isn't Flash the application, which is what you use to develop Flash content.

And yes, you should update it so that you don't get redirected by banner ad exploits etc. The redirection (inevitably to sites that tell  you your PC is INFECTED! OMG! Download this software (trojan/virus) to fix it RIGHT NOW) is incredibly annoying even if you aren't stupid enough to download the suggested software, as often you cannot get OUT of the loop and have to quit the browser entirely. dry.gif

Thanks. I guess I just exposed my tendency to read too fast and gloss over key words; like Player. doh.gif

But I can't seem to find anything called Flash Player or Shockwave on my Mini. dntknw.gif

That's because they are both plugin type files for a browser. They simply provide code for displaying Flash and Shockwave data when the browser runs across it. If you've never installed them, they aren't there yet. If you have you should have a ~/Library/Application Support/Macromedia folder in that path. "Flash Player.plugin will probably be in /Library/Internet Plug-ins/. smile.gif

That folder is empty. I guess there aren't any "essential" plug-ins since I'm getting along fine without any.
