Mystery Finder Window
« on: May 26, 2008, 08:44:11 PM »
...well maybe with some help from my wife, but I have no idea how to open it myself.

The window is titled Mac Mini. Now, mind you, my startup volume is called Mini Mac HD. The location bar at the bottom of the Mac Mini window sometimes says Mac Mini and at other times says Mini Mac HD. I don't know what changed it as I switched back and forth from the Finder to Safari while composing this post.

This time, there are two items in Mac Mini. Last time, I recall seeing three, but didn't take note of it then. The two items are Network and Mini Mac HD (the startup volume).

Info on Mac Mini...
General:
Processor: 1.83 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
Memory: 1 GB 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM
Startup Disk: Mini Mac HD (look familiar?)

Info on Network...
General:
Kind: Neighborhood

If I close the window Mac Mini, I have no idea how to open it on purpose. I don't imagine I'd want to if I knew how, but I'm curious about how it gets opened. dntknw.gif

Just now, I purposely put the screen to sleep, then woke it up. When it came back, there was a dark "see through" window called Mac Mini with just a 3-d image of the Mini. This is the same image shown under Preview (I think) in the Info window of Mac Mini when it appears in the location bar. I can't get this "see through" window to appear at will.

Do I have Mac Ghosts???
Ya gotta applaud those bunnies for sacrificing their hearing just so some guy in Cupertino can have better TV reception.

How about a screen shot. A picture is worth 10's of hundreds of letter combinations...or something like that. dntknw.gif

Shift-Command-4 will let you specify the area you want to capture. wink.gif
THERE ARE TWO TYPES OF COUNTRIES
Those that use metric = #1 Measurement system
And the United States = The Banana system
CAUTION! Childhood vaccinations cause adults!

It is easy to get to this window. Just click on the Go menu and choose Computer.

Thanks. I'll have to try that. But, I'll never know how one of us did it accidently. dntknw.gif
