When it entered the e-mail market, Yahoo provided just 3 megabytes of free storage per account. But Google changed the competitive landscape in 2004 when it introduced gmail with 1 gigabyte of free storage under its Gmail service. Gmail now offers more than 6 gigabytes of free storage.

I can't imagine having that much e-mail saved! But then, most of the e-mail I send or receive is without attachments.

If you do sign up for new accounts, make sure you go in and edit your "marketing preferences" - the default is EVERYTHING checked - you'll be deluged by spam!

Grabbed both ymail & rocketmail with my name (one of 'em with just my first name - that's a first!). Someone else got MY name with both gmail and yahoo! Always good to have a few spare email accounts, I figure.
