Can OS 8.6 be tricked to load Lex Z32?
« on: February 16, 2003, 04:00:00 PM »
Lately my wife’s old Stylewriter 4500 has been getting real flakey, but we are not going to  try to find a replacement printer to go with  her old 7200 PowerMac.  She is using OS8.6, and some guy says he ‘thinks’ there is an  ‘upgrade’ or workaround  which will allow us to load  a Lexmark Z32 printer  driver to her PowerMac 7200 (it does not seem to allow it now) which will allow  her to use my Z32 while she is networked to my iMac. Does anyone  know if there is any truth to this idea? I cannot find any help at  the Mac site.
Thanks, nels96

I think what you want is USB Printer Sharing.

Not sure of the ins and outs of it. I think Paddy does.

Here's an example.
