It was coming...but I think they'll be around a bit longer than predicted.

Yeah, but you need something to play them in also. I'm annoyed by the fact that my 2002 model car has only a CD player, while the 1999 has CD and cassette players.

Oh, BTW, that link took nearly five minutes to open. dntknw.gif

Ya gotta applaud those bunnies for sacrificing their hearing just so some guy in Cupertino can have better TV reception.

I have three Toyota's (2001, 2002, 2004) and all of them have both cassette and CD's!  I'm sure it is cheaper for them to just put the same thing in all of the vehicles that they sell!

My 2004 Toyota Sienna still has a cassette deck - good thing, too, since we use a cassette adapter to connect the iPod!!

Though I have been intending to investigate the possibility of adding a permanent wired in lead...

We recently threw out a whole lot of old cassettes - they'd all deteriorated to the point that there was nothing audible on them. They were mostly ones we'd recorded ourselves many eons ago to have music in the car other than the radio.

Yeah, I guess the player gets phased out before the media shelf life is reached due to lack of playing time. So, why produce players for tapes that aren't being played! :sigh:
