TechTool Pro 462 Update available
« on: August 09, 2008, 10:21:04 AM »
It came out on August 4th. I just discovered it when I opened TTP and, on a whim, pulled down "Search for Update" from the menu.

Ya gotta applaud those bunnies for sacrificing their hearing just so some guy in Cupertino can have better TV reception.

They should be coming out with 5 shortly.
they have a couple of neato programs now for those with iphones and ipods. one is called Syphone, it sycs iphone messages and the other is Protogo? that turns an ipod into a service device for your mac.

I think an upgrade to 5 will cost folks who have 4.6,unless you buy now.

The application saved my bacon once, when all others failed, so to me the expense is worth it. DiskWarrior may be the favorite but it couldn't help me out of my jam. It's been years now so i can't remember the details but my iBook was a door stop for a while. wink.gif

I saw a reference to Protogo on the download page. I think it's already out there. I don't recall seeing Syphone mentioned.

I think Micromat's pricing scheme is totally criminal.  I've tried to keep up with a working TTP but, after repeated fees just to have a version compatible with Tiger/Leopard, I'm sorry, but I've bailed out.  Now I have useless copies of TTP, just because I got caught up in keeping up-to-date.  Any they never even add any features.  Just compatibility.  Sorry Micromat.  You've lost me.

Hmmmm. I upgraded from the previous version for OS9 (4.5 ?)* to the Leopard compatible 4.6 for something like $59.95

I thought that was reasonable.

*Nope. 3.0.6!

I'll agree- that upgrade is reasonable.  The complaint is for all the little hooks I bit just to keep it working with every OS upgrade.  Your making a huge leap where some of us have gone with every little leap along the way, thus requiring more TTP upgrades.
