Well thank you one and all. I had a great birthday yesterday
This has been quite the year and 5 months, my wife returned as an adult special ed teacher last tuesday having been diagnosed with breast cancer in March 2007. She is 53 and has had a mammogram since age 40, it was caught very early, surgery went well, chemo was hell, radiation was uncomfortable, but she is considered cured (4% chance of recurrance in the next ten years).
Actually, I could have retired 2 years ago, at age 60, with a full government pension and what you call social security but was asked to stay on to finish setting up our new municipal court. Until January 2002 we were 28 municipalities on the island of Montreal with as many municipal courts, the cities merged as did the courts, we had to integrate several computer systems into one and close 23 courts and set up 5 regional courts. I have been responsible for one of those courts. It has been 5 years of renovations and organizing, it is running well, and we are now tweaking and fine tuning. I have told my boss that I shall be retiring as of September 2009 after 38+ yeras of service.
As for the new iMac, well this week, my wife managed to lose her email setting in Entourage, but using Time Machine I was able to restore them in less than 2 minutes, she was highly impressed.
Then my son wakes me up Friday night he had tried to set up boot camp but something went wrong, anyway after half an hour of trying to resolve it we decided to simply reinstall the system and lo and behold it asked us if we wanted to restore from Time machine, less than an hour later all was back to as before. I must say I am mightily impressed with Time machine.
Rember those who have the most birthdays live the longest!
Thanks again,
Johan
