This isn't new by any means, but I thought it might fun to share once more.

When the gel button was first introduced, I decided to try and duplicate it and this image is how it turned out.

People wanted to know how it was done, so I made a tutorial:

Button Tutorial

Along with the tutorial, it seemed appropriate to share this:

 Hey Bruce,

first of all:
thanks for that wonderful tutorial! smile.gif

However, I am having some problems with making my button transparent.
I didn't understand your tutorial regarding that issue.

I have uploaded my button so you can see what I mean.
Without the transparency it still looks cool, but lacks the "Aqua"-effect. wink.gif

One more thing. Which version of PS did you use? My PS 7 looks completely different. It took me some time to figure out what to do in my PS's menus.
Power Macintosh G5 (Late 2004), 1.8 GHz, 1GB RAM, DVD/CD-RW combo, ATI Radeon 9600XT

AirPort Express
HP LaserJet 4200N

Lukas, it has been awhile since I did that button tutorial. I had to look at the layers in the Photoshop file to recall what I did.  huh.gif

If you downloaded the Photoshop (6, I think) file I did, you can click on each layer and look at the settings for each.

The "button" layer is set to Multiply to allow the lines to show through.

It could be that I missed some details when I put the tutorial together.  blink.gif
