Now, with respect to
FileMaker and
Leopard: Today, I "made the move" and what a move.
Going from 10.4.11 (believe it was) to 10.5.5 . . . finally . . . took only about an hour and 15 minutes,
after I previously had cleaned up my DT, had backed-up, and run DiskUtility to get everything ready.
P-i-e-c-e o' c-a-k-e hardly describes the process. I think it was required that I click the mouse but 4-5 times, throughtout. NO HEAVY lifting, in fact no lifting at all.
Amazing.
Come take a stroll with me down Memory Lane. Think back to the days of Type (x) Errors, Clean Installs, Conflict Catcher (again, and again and again), of harmonizing Control Panels abd Extensions, rebuilding desktops. They don't make 'em like they used to . . . thank goodness.
And, despite the compatibility alert, FileMaker just sailed along (as it has since about 1987, I think).
Oh joy,
With Pogue at my elbow I'm exploring more bells-and-whistles than I could imagine. This is more fun that the Christmas I got my first Schwinn (1938!)
