Probably not new to most of you but I just discovered that movies (including wmv) will run in Quick Look.  smile.gif

Thanks! I'm getting very tired of having to click two separate dialogs just to view WMVs in Mail...although this method still requires navigating to the file in user/Library/Mail Downloads/. sad.gif I may actually update Leopard to 10.5.6 this week but it seems to have been a problem introduced by Mail itself or QT. wallbash.gif

I just drag the file to the desktop and use my control/click button to pop up the Quick Look option.

For years I used PicturePop which was a contextual menu item just like QuickLook and did virtually the same thing except it didn't play mp3s or movies.  I also use Shomi which does play movies and shows folders of images all at once.  Apple apparently is making life tough for the PicturePop maker as his Pro version will probably not be doing very well with QuickLook part of the OS now.

i need to think about the concept of PPP to be complementary to QuickLook, and usable in 10.4. The first step will be to have a test of 10.5 and QuickLook/CoverFlow before conitnuing active development of PPP, because i don't want to spend time for nothing...

Maybe he should investigate the 'hooks' Apple provides to it (and several other "Core Services")? I know I have at least on Finder type, third-party app that uses the Quick Look technology. dntknw.gif But I can understand his frustrations, every time someone comes up with a really good, new idea, there is a chance that some OS maker will either try to buy it or duplicate it. rolleyes.gif I think you said you and once used "Greg's Browser" back in OS 8 and it used the 'hooks' in StuffIt files to show exactly what was in them. Not sure anything is able to do that, even now. sad.gif
