Opera 6.02 for Mac was released today - I just downloaded it and am posting this using it. Ummm...fast, and some nice features, but it has a heck of a time rendering pages from VersionTracker...all sorts of weirdness. Until I went to that site, I thought I was using another contender.

Oh well...back to Safari (and Firebird). Safari is rumored to being close to 2.0 release. smile.gif

Opera 7 for Mac will be released, according to a CNET story today. Maybe some of the bugs will be fixed then? I'll have to try 7 on the PC...

But doesn't Opera cost money to get it banner free or whatever? I haven't fooled with it in a LONG time and I don't think I'll start now.

Well, according to their web site, if you download the free version you have to put up with banner ads, but I don't see any, so go figure. huh.gif

I'm not planning on paying for it either...there are too many really great free ones to do that!

Paddy I think you get 30 "bannerless" days to try it out...

I've got Opera 5, bought and paid for. Like it quite well except for a couple of niggly things and the one that I miss most from NS... the lack of a personal toolbar.
My version seems to work OK on versiontracker.

I'm not sure if I'd pay for it if I had OS X running, I like what I've seen of Safari but I can't use it. Unfortunately not Firebird or any of those either... the choice for Classic MacOS is getting slim...
