QUOTE
Shift at least 10 percent of non-local spending to local spending starting this spring and into the future.

How much of an effect will this movement have on the Internet Economy? I know here our small City there has been a Buy Local campaign going on for close to a year.

How much of an effect will this movement have on the Internet Economy?

We've always bought locally when possible and financially do-able; but in this small area we'd be lost without Internet shopping. We'd have to save up and drive over to the valley and do a 1-2 day shopping trip. Plus when something locally is twice the price of what I can buy it for from an online dealer, and the local guy won't negotiate price -- then I shop online.

So if shops want local money they have to make an effort. At least around here. wink.gif

Yes Kim, there a lots of people doing this independently, but do you have an organized movement in your region, town...whatever that would change the economy by 10% or more?

You see...by organizing these movements it produces false data. Now if a prospective business looks at a chart they see what normal activity looks like, but in a movement they would see the temporary bump. We know it's temporary because markets seek the lowest price and locals distributors can not compete with volume acquisitions like online purchases and discount houses like walmart. A startup enterprise or and existing expansion could fail under these circumstances.
