After several months of teeth grinding, miss-steps, agonizing and hours of frustration  trying to revive the IMAC G5,(a whole story in itself), Groaner.gif  I bit the bullet today and ordered a Refurb Mac Mini santagrin.gif.

Apple, in its infinite wisdom, would not budge on a 4th fix for the Imac, or any kind of replacement consideration, however the kindness and generosity of their "Corporate Executive Relations" department "awarded" me a $100 "Gift Certificate" towards the purchase of anything priced $300 or more.  WOW.gif

Mini out the door for $338.

So now it begins. I have been REALLY happy with Tiger and have purposely  been putting off the Leopard leap, but I guess all good things must come to an end. Hurt.gif

Probably just get it under control about the time "SNOW" leaps out of the mountains.

You'll love Leopard, honestly. Wish I hadn't waited so long, myself. Quicklook alone is almost worth the price! smile.gif I would certainly check any tutorialson Leopard at Apple, especially one that might show the differences. Time Machine is another big help, might as well get ready to buy an external HD! wink.gif Make sure it is at least as big as the internal.

I have recently had my hands into 3 G5 iMAC's (w/ iSights) and out of three that didn't work I managed to get two that did: one was a bad hard drive (easy), one with a bad power board (not too bad) and one with a bad logic board (very bad because a replacement costs as much as a whole refurbished computer ($500 or so) and so we won't be fixing it.  I took the power board and hard drive out of it to fix the other two so we got two repaired with no cost except for my time and trouble.  I had another of these on my desk (I'd had the logic board replaced under the extended warranty last December) so I'm using it to replace the one I couldn't fix and putting a iMAC dual core from elsewhere in the office on my desk to take its place.  I can say that I'm not really impressed by these things.  I suspect that the Mac Mini will probably be a little more robust simply because it is more simple!  Good luck with it!
