how well will it run stuff?  Paul Thurrott's Supersite for Windows is reporting that the soon to be released Windows 7 will include a virtual Windows XP:

This is undoubtedly good news to those who would rather-fight-than-switch die hard Windows XP users (like my school district and myself) who never bought into VISTA; but you've got to remember that not everything runs all that well in XP PRO either.  I guess it's a higher percentage anyway.  rolleyes.gif

Hmmm, sounds a lot like Classic in OSX (or Rosetta).  Now how long did it take for them to copy this idea from Apple?

Let's see, OSX debuted in server version in 1999 (desktop in 2001)... wow, only 10 years.  wink.gif

Running Slow with limited memory (2 Gigs) isn't surprising but it also sounds like they need to iron out some of the interface issues (what OS is doing what); just like in running OS 9 under OS 10 had problems!  They'll probably want to make it a little painful so that people will complete the conversion and buy new hardware and software that runs without the Virtual environment!

Apparently M$oft decided the bounty of running XP under Windows 7 won't work on all of the processors that Windows 7 itself will work on:

Maybe VMWare or Fusion will come to their rescue? How about a Windows version of BootCamp? How about the simplest way, just get a Mac and OS X! laughhard.gif
