Mac users really are a community
« on: May 15, 2009, 09:21:43 AM »
I managed to slop coffee on to the nice white keyboard of my G5. Not a great deal, so mopped it up with a tissue and went on my way. Next day, however, I'd lost the use of some keys - right shift key, up cursor key, some of number pad. Put an appeal on MacFormat for recommendations for a firm that sold used Mac stuff. Didn't really want to buy one of the new Apple ones - wouldn't look right smile.gif

Got a reply from a fellow poster who said he'd got a spare one and I was welcome to it; either collect or pay postage. He's only 15 miles away, so I gave the car a bit of a run, collected it and am now using it to type this. It's brand new, never been used, but he said he'd checked all the keys worked, and all is well so far. He didn't even want anything for it.

As they used to say over here "warms the cockles of your heart". thumbup.gif

I hope you invited him to come visit TS? Perhaps he's also a displaced Scotsman? smile.gif
THERE ARE TWO TYPES OF COUNTRIES
Those that use metric = #1 Measurement system
And the United States = The Banana system
