The high temperature in Granite Falls, in west central Minnesota hit 100 F.... while at the same time Grand Marais in the Arrowhead region of north eastern MN., the high temperature was 34 F.   Thereby allowing Minnesota to record the highest and lowest temp in the lower 48 at the same time...

I have wondered how all those lakes got formed. It's obviously from the stress fractures of the land surface caused by those extreme temperature differences...
