Since Safari is no longer available to me (see my thread on that problem), I've begun to use Firefox as my browser.

That's fine, since it is a fine browser and I know a lot of people are devoted to it.

But, since it is relatively new to me, I'm looking for any advice. I know that there are many addons, are there any you especially like?

One problem I'm having is when I choose to open a folder of bookmarks all at once, in separate tabs. Those tabs are added to any I already have open, rather than replacing them, as happens in Safari. As a result, I wind up with a large number of tabs open.

Adblock Plus is worth its weight in cannibals to me. I also use FoxClocks, only because I persist in conversing with folks in New Zealand and Israel. It didn't help me to comprehend the International Date Line, though.

I'll second Adblock Plus, which prevents so much junk.... it's easily deactivated from the menu bar to allow a site or just a page.

For clocks I use a widget that brings up a clock for each chosen city. Simply called World Clock.

I don't see a way to adjust that, although there might be an add-on that would work. It's funny, when I switch over to Safari, I get annoyed when it replaces the page I'm looking at. biggrin.gif

Thomas, since FF is new to you... and your not locked-in to it... you may want to also consider Opera

It's fast, with many options and has an impressive mini browser too. It will sync every machine you have and it has a email option if you choose. http://www.opera.com/mail/

I've been ever so slowly moving to Opera which handles half my browsing needs with no failures so far.

I think there are others around these parts that also use Opera.

Firefox has that WebDeveloper toolkit, its wonderful.
Opera is also one of my favourites.
Though I much prefer Safari's bookmark system, than the way Firefox bookmarks are handled.
