welcome.gif    Sorry its been a while but........ whistling.gif

(Like the new look by the way!!)

ME
 wallbash.gif

I have just gone broadband for OS X.
(iMac 600, 640 MB RAM,  plenty of free space.)
Mac OS 9.2.2 on other system.

(Also got problems++ with OS 9 at present and find when I launch it the disk light just constantly flickers away and nothing else happens, ....but thats another problem.
Can any one help with this??  I have restored in place and it still happens!!
I would like to be able to use both systems!!  At present cannot get online or do anything with OS 9 at all!   upset.gif )

The thing is.....I need to launch Classic to get my e mail addresses from OS 9!

Typically my last contacts export was too big for Simple text and I put it into an Apple doc and even that needs OS9!!)   (What are we told,  back up back up back up!!  oops.gif)

But when I launch Classic, I am told:

You do not have sufficient permissions to run Classic from
System/library/core services.
Please correct permissions and restart Classic.

I am the only user of this computer.
How do I get permission to do this??!!?
Mac Help is no good  verysad.gif

And remember any answers in simple language!!!
I am not a real technie!!

Go to your Applications folder. Find a folder called Utilities. There is a program in there called Disk First Aid, which has a command to "repair permissions." That should be all you need to do.
A whole lot about me: www.xeromag.com/franklin.html
