I can download a DMG file from Apple that contains Apple Service Diagnostic and when you open it you get two drive images,
called
ASD Dual Boot 2.6.3 and
ASD OS 2.6.3 along with PDF files that tell you how to burn these onto a DVD:
QUOTE
Follow these instructions to burn a DVD using the tools provided by OS X.
1–Download the ASD disc image (.dmg) from the CD/DVD Images webpage on GSX/ServiceSource.
2–Launch Disk Copy from the /Applications/Utilities/ folder.
3–Select Burn Image... from the File menu, navigate to the downloaded image, select it, and click Burn.
4–Insert a 4.7 GB blank DVD into the DVD burner and close the carrier. After a few seconds the Burn button becomes active. Click Burn and wait until Disc Copy informs you that the burn is complete.
Taking into account the misnaming of Disk Utility I seem to only get a message from Disk Utility saying it can't determine how much "free space" is left on the DVD! Has anyone tried something like this? The machine is my office Intel Dual-Core 2.4 GHz with the built-in DVD burner.
Nevermind, I tried burning the entire DMG that I downloaded and that generated a DVD image that will boot on the target computer!
