http://www.macsimumnews.com/index.php/arch...virus_software/This has to be one of the most nonsensical articles I've seen in some time. The majority of the article is spent talking about how Mac users are just as vulnerable to phishing as PC users and that phishing doesn't require any malware.
QUOTE
Phishing attacks are just as effective on Macs, Linux, Windows, Solaris, and any operating system since they rely on tricking the user and not upon malicious software or any software vulnerabilities. The Mac offers no immunity to phishing attacks and so we see a virtually equal percentage of victim representation across the board.”
And ESET doesn't even sell software for Macs, so what do they care?
Furthermore, all major browsers now include some anti-phishing ability; most of us have seen the warnings from Safari (or Google) about unsafe websites. But, warnings about "unsafe" sites can be ignored - and sometimes they're not detected by the software anyway.
I've yet to see any software that truly helps protect people from their own stupidity...and anti-virus isn't it.
