Log In Problem?
« on: June 03, 2003, 12:44:59 AM »
Anyone else having this problem?  Since the board converted, the 'program' doesn't recognize my presence  verysad.gif   When I click on 'Log In', I'm taken to that page only to find both my 'log in' name and password already entered so that all that has to be done is to click on "Log In".

Am working in 9.2.2 and have been for a couple/three weeks cuz the program I'm using I don't have for Jaguar.  Just curious if others have to sign in every time or if it's just me??   ph34r.gif

You shouldn't have to do that.

Log out, then go HERE
At the bottom of the page you will see a link to delete cookies. Do that.

Then log back in again. See if the next time it works OK.
You might want to clear your browser cache, too.

After deleting your cookies, when you log back in, there is a radio button under Options "Remember Me".  Click that, it should work.

Thanks for your replies, Jennie and Krissel.  I followed your directions  so we'll see what happens the next time I open TS.  For what it's worth, I did have the top radio button selected asking to be remembered and my cookies are set to be eliminated after every session so there shouldn't be a lot to confuse the issue!?

Hopefully this will work!   rolleyes.gif

Eliminating the cookies after each session is why you have to log in each time.

You are being "remembered", your name and password being filled in on the log in page makes the log in just two clicks.

One of the nice things about keeping the cookies is the board will show a little arrow next to and left of the topic title.  Clicking on that wil take you to the first unread post in a thread.

I had a feeling, after checking my 'cookie' settings, that might be the problem, Jennie.  It's been changed to 'keep for 15 days', assuming that the cookie will update after each 'visit'...?

The strange thing is that I can't remember the last time I looked at those settings prior to this issue and assumed they hadn't changed since we were using the other board--oh, well!  Stranger things have happened...  doh.gif  blush-anim-cl.gif

 thanx.gif  a lot for the help!!   wub.gif

15 days ought to do it.

This software does cookie differently.  The old board did it on your computer, this one must do it on server.  When I log in from work, viewed topics  is updated from morning session at home, not just from last session at work. B)

thanx.gif  It's working fine now--expect to see a difference in how posts open when I click on the arrow.  Haven't tested that yet.  whistling.gif
