MDD sound...
« on: March 24, 2010, 07:52:09 PM »
Often , after boot, i have to tweak sound control pannel volume  to  get  sound from the MDD (OS  9.2.2)
Sometimes also  unpluging and repluging  the minijack.....

Is there a solution to get rid of that...?

Thanks

GR

Are you trying to get the audio from the MDD's speakers or earphones?
Cheers, Tom

Not exactly a direct fix for your problem, but with my own MDD, I found that the Griffin iMic [about 45USD] provided MUCH clearer, cleaner audio than was obtained from the built-in jacks.
And I NEVER had any audio probs with this setup.  I now use the iMic w/ my G5, same trouble-free operation.

Kb,

GR is still using OS 9, do you think the imic would still work?

Griffin's web site says it is compatible with OS 10.4 - 10.6 and Windows XP...

Then it is probably not anything at TS or the servers. Copy & paste are purely OS functions. Nothing basically gets acted on at TS until you send/request a page. You might try emptying the cache on the browser giving you the trouble, Quit & restart that browser or Shutdown/Restart the OS. dntknw.gif

IIRC, I began using the iMic while using OS9, but I'm not absolutely certain as it was quite a phew years ago...

PS, the more I think about this, I'm pretty sure that I began using an iMic out of necessity with my Quicksilver [which had no audio in jack at all] definitely running OS9, and after upgrading to the MDD some years later, I discovered that the sound quality thru the iMic was superior to that obtained when connected to the built-ins.
