FW HD does not show up in dialogue boxes
« on: June 17, 2003, 04:51:44 PM »
Ive been able to use my ext. FW HD on Jag with bascially no problems (knock formica). I dont use any software with it, just fire it up and it shows up on the desktop. One inconvience though is it does not appear in dialogue boxes. Like save this file to ---- the FW is not an option. and if im searching for something to open, it does not show up. I can only access it with the mouse.
I was going to do some recording and have the files saved to the drive but it wont work if it is not a choice.
Any suggestions?
This is a BWG3.

Have you rebuilt the desktop?

You didn't partition or update the drivers on the external drive, I take it? Might be a good idea.

Check THIS also.

The external FW drive will show up on Save As dialogs; it's just that it's not intuitive how.

Click the downward arrow to get the full Save As dialog.

You will notice a scrollbar on the *bottom* of the Save As dialog. Scroll it all the way to the left to see your FW drive.
