CD Roms not mounting.....
« on: June 11, 2003, 09:09:08 AM »
Running X.2 and CDs will not mount.

Opened Terminal and verified automount was enabled.

Thought I had seen here somewhere here that someone suggested other methods of getting CDs to mount.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance.

Take care.

In Finder/Preferences, make sure that Removable media (such as CDs) is checked to show on the desktop.

That's TOO weird.

The removeable media thingy that you suggested WAS already checked when I got to the Finder prefs.

And this time, the CD mounted.

I really didn't enable it.  whistling.gif ph34r.gif

OS X.2 does all kinds of wierd things.

This morning I downloaded the Quicktime and Security update, repaired permissions and couldn't log in on any of the users. I can log in by putting my password in and hitting enter on the keyboard but the login button in the panel still doesn't work!
