Just in time for the Fourth!

I'm a little sensitive about showing respect for our Flag (there is a code...and he technically violates it here), but I think Robin Williams does a great job of reminding many of us of why we should. salute.gif

BTW, veterans, we can now salute the flag, even if not in uniform. The code was amended last year. clap.gif

Jim I agree with you about the code for the flag. I had seen this before and agree that it is a tribute to "Old Glory", even though he does slightly infringe on the code.

I also know of the change allowing veterans to salute her even if not in uniform.

Great video. Thanks. Tomorrow I think it's time to get out our red-white-blue bunting and drape the porch to go with the flag.

Part of the problem is that most people don't seem to know the code. I took my niece to the orthodontist last week and they'd just decorated their office for the Fourth. Unfortunately, they'd hung the flag vertically and the stars were on the wrong side. And this was in a very conservative part of town!

It'd be great if someone (like a veterans group, maybe) ran an informational PR campaign complete with PSAs on the basics of displaying the flag.

I suppose it's better to have some display, even if it may not be perfect. No need to be overly exacting and cause many who want to display her afraid of making a mistake... Gross errors are another thing, entirely, of course. I try to never make more than 143 errors in any won yeer. Groaner.gif

FWIW, in Firefox the page loads, but the vid never plays, just an endlessly spinning gear.

In Safari, however, it played just fine.

I suppose it could be the Flashblocker plugin I've been running in FF for quite some time [which is NOT installed in Safari on my G5]- it routinely does not run any Flash vids until you click on a 'Play' button - it works flawlessly 99 44/100 % of the time.
