Seems strange to make it a page at Apple instead of loading more stuff onto the over-loaded iTunes interface! laughhard.gif I guess they need more click-throughs? smile.gif At least we've got some 'tested' extensions, now. Thanks for the link!

Installed it the other day and I like it. I tried 2 of the extensions and then dumped them. One was just annoying (a news scrawl), and AdBlock didn't work as it did on FF. Worse, it made my crossword puzzle site unusable (even with the white listing).

I still have oddities (see my other thread if you are curious), but all in all I like Safari 5.0.1.

Many sites use data from other domains. So whitelisting a site may be only part of the process. You may need to whitelisting several others (or allow any off-site links) to get full use. I seem to remember settings in Safari's prefs for that, also.

Have you tried Glimmerblocker? It's not an extension but works fine for me... Don't have info on it up here in MO but a Google for that and "Mac software" should get the developer's site.

I do think the issue with the crossword puzzle was the need to whitelist off site links -- which would defeat the purpose on other sites. Unless I was willing to spend hours doing an extensive whitelist for this site from this site type thing -- and I wasn't. wink.gif

I've not tried GlimmerBlocker, but I'll look into it. Thanks for the tip.

Thanks, Jon. I tried out GlimmerBlocker earlier. Wound up with some things freezing, so I've uninstalled it.

For the most part I don't mind ads, they do pay the bills for sites that offer me things I enjoy -- and I don't have to "pay to play". I object to flash ads, pop-ups/pop-unders, and ads that try to take over my computer. I'm fortunate in that I have decent speed DSL. If I was on dial-up (and lots of folks around here are), then I'd really find it annoying.
