I don't see QT Lib in my OS 9.x Partition. smile.gif

It sounds more like something from a PC version of QT.

One example.

Quicktime 4 (Macintosh): What Gets Installed

Maybe something like this happenend.

"Some applications replace the version of QuickTime installed by Mac OS 8.5 with an earlier version of QuickTime. This can cause incompatibilities with other parts of the system that require features of the newer version of QuickTime."

http://docs.info.apple.com/article2.html?artnum=30787

So. What version of QT? smile.gif

Kruser -

I use Quicken 2000 almost daily on both OS 9.1 (QT 5 Pro) and 8.6 (QT 4.1.2), and I can't find QuickTimeLib on either of those systems.

I suspect it's a Quicken anomaly and that it's one of those error msgs that's wrong (there IS some problem that's keeping Quicken from launching, but the absence of 'QuickTimeLib' is NOT the problem).

I suggest, in this order:

* restart with the 'OS All' extension set
* check carefully to see whether all your QuickTime extensions are of the same version - trash 'em all and re-install QT if they're not
* remove the Quicken preferences from the preferences folder and let Quicken create a new one
* re-install Quicken

 hope this helps,

"QuickTimeLib" is NOT the name of a file. It is the name of a library--think of it like a subroutine--built into another file.

The problem is indeed with QuickTime.

QuickTimeLib is built into the file called "QuickTime™." The error is being caused because either QuickTime is not installed, or the version of QuickTime that isinstalled is too old.

Reinstall QuickTime.

QUOTE(Kruser @ Jun 16 2003, 5:51 PM)
I have quicktime 4&5

If this is true, you have both QT4 and QT5 installed, it might be the problem.

Remove all the components of the one you don't want, or remove  all QT components and re-install the version you want to use (probably 5).
