A Special day at church yesterday!
« on: September 20, 2010, 04:36:17 PM »
Much as I encouraged him, he never uttered even one "pirate" utterance during the entire service... dntknw.gif

But we did have a special day! A family in our church lost a son several years ago to cancer. He left a wife and daughter. A fellow classmate of his wanted to do something in his honor and has been riding his bike to raise money for cancer treatment. This year, he decided to ride ~720 miles to raise money for a scholarship fund in honor of his friend. Here are a couple of pictures <as he prepared to leave our church>. You can <keep up with his ride here>.

"Progress?!" How about watching for a decrease in stupidity, carelessness, lack of gumption (sorry for the technical term). blush-anim-cl.gif I got a nice email this morning from Kimmer asking why I would ask anyone to look at that page. At least she was kind enough not to ask for payment for her wasted time! thanx.gif And she sent me a screen capture of what she saw which made it obvious what had happened. The culprit was in front of my monitor!!! Took maybe ten seconds to fix, but it was up for ~12 hours showing nothing but my ignorance!

Note to self: Don't make site-wide changes with out checking all pages afterward (especially a page you asked anyone to visit!). wallbash.gif

XABD- the problem with the website must've been solved before I saw it!  Looks like an ambitious project for a good cause.  I had a good friends from Paul's Valley, Oklahoma and when they moved to the Washington D.C. area a young man swore that he was in the coils of immortal love with their daughter and "tried" to ride a bicycle (he was 16 and had no car) from there to Gaithersburg, Maryland.  He made it to somewhere near the St. Louis archway and wiped out his bike in a storm grating.  The result was he, and the bike, had to continue the journey via Greyhound! biggrin.gif  They did get married and were still together when last I heard from them!  TRUE LOVE IS MARVELOUS! rolleyes.gif
